Normal Age-Related Brain Changes
As we age, it's common for our brains to undergo some changes. Typically, after the age of 40, you
may notice a slight decrease in reaction time, with a slowing of a few milliseconds each year.
Memory recall, like remembering items on a shopping list, can also become more challenging.
While these shifts might raise concerns about conditions such as Alzheimer's, they are usually just a
normal part of aging. Matt Huentelman, a professor at the Translational Genomics Research
Institute (TGen) in Phoenix, explains that both memory and processing speed naturally change in healthy individuals as they age.
